Presenting a product effectively is a critical step in the sales process. A well-executed product presentation helps build customer trust, showcases the value of the product, and significantly increases the chances of a sale.
A workshop titled as, “How to present a product to a customer” was held at JBs on 22nd April 2025. Dr S Suresh. The following are the highlights of the workshop.

- Buying Behavior: Recognize their decision-making process.
Prepare the Product Presentation
Preparation involves:
- Knowing the Product Thoroughly: Be clear on its features, benefits, limitations, and how it compares to competitors.
- Creating Supporting Materials: Prepare brochures, slides, demos, samples, or case studies.
- Customizing the Message: Highlight how the product meets the specific needs of the customer.
Focus on Value and Benefits
Rather than listing features, demonstrate:
- What the product does for the customer
- How it solves their problems
Use Demonstrations and Visuals
- Live Demonstrations: Show the product in action to build trust.
Engage the Customer
- Encourage Interaction: Let the customer touch, test, or use the product if possible.
- Ask Questions: Confirm understanding and gain feedback.
- Handle Objections: Address concerns confidently with facts and examples.
Highlight Differentiators
Make it clear why your product is better than competitors:
- Unique features
- Better support or warranty
- Superior customer service
- Value for money
Close Effectively
- Summarize Key Benefits: Reiterate what they gain from the product.
- Call to Action (CTA): Encourage the next step – purchase, trial, meeting, etc.
