- Objective/Abstract of the Industrial Visit:
The objective of the industrial visit is to make students sensitize towards how data is collected by the satellites and different observatories established all over in India and sent to the central place for weather forecasting.
Following key points have been emphasized during the visit:
- Importance of keeping the historical data
- Benefit of having duplicate data points
- Measurement and Monitoring of temperature, humidity and rainfall levels
- Difference between Bad and Good Ozone
- Concept of Air Quality Index
- Method of data collection by Satellites
- Data transfer process from Satellites to Data Servers on Earth
- Possible errors that may occur during transmission of data
- Weather forecasting that has different aspects like (Temperature, Humidity, Rainfall, Wind Speed etc.)
- Practical applications of weather forecasting used in different industries e.g. Aviation
