Communicate right before you speak.

The workshop focused on creating awareness amongst students on the importance of body language and common aspects of non-verbal communications that are often ignored. While we all often focus on just the words, scope of communication is vast and covers aspects like, tone, pace, facial expression etc. as well. Focus was also laid on preparing self for future employability. Given below is a glimpse of activities and parameters that were touched upon.

  1. Ice breaker activity - Introduction with the theme, “three truths and a lie” — can you spot one?
  2. Effective communication activity – Form groups basis similarity
  3. Importance of setting SMART goals, and managing day effectively
  4. Aiming for the job they seek in future - Story of resume starts from today
  5. Silent line up – Lining up as per month and year of birth in ascending order without speaking to each other
  6. Discussion around elements of body language, role that it plays in effective communication and certain facts pertaining to it.
  7. Activity- Draw while listening to instructions. How listening is an important part of communication, Importance of effective listening and habits that make people a good listener.
