Biography

Dr Chhavi Sharma is an Assistant Professor of Information Technology at the Jaypee Business School, JIIT, Noida. She has been a INSPIRE DST scholar and received her PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi. Her Masters in Informatics and Bachelors in Computer Science degrees are from Delhi University as well. She has a PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from ILI.

Her teaching philosophy is grounded to inspire students to think, analyse, and develop a lifetime yearning for knowledge. In her prior teaching experience at IIM Amritsar, she has taught subjects like Machine Learning, Python for Managers, Emerging Technologies, Management Information Systems etc. She has worked as a faculty at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi, for two years, teaching Computer science subjects. In her guest faculty stretch at FMS, Delhi University, she taught Strategic management of IT and Managing Software Projects. In early research career, she has worked as a Project fellow at NCERT in the Gender studies department and as a Research Associate in the Indian Institute of Public Administration.

Dr. Chhavi has been doing interdisciplinary research on the social aspects of Artificial Intelligence in the last few years. In one of her publications, she discussed the AI-Generated Inventions and IPR. In one of her achievements, her Policy Pitch was awarded the second place in the Science Policy Course for STEM professionals hosted by the University of Irvine. She completed an AI Policy clinic course from the Centre of AI and Digital Policy in December 2023 to develop her acumen in the field of AI Policy. Currently she is researching in the area of AI governance.
